GAINESVILLE — The 2016 Gainesville City Senior Championship is a 36-hole stroke play event being held this Friday and Saturday at Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville. The Senior event consists of amateur golfers age 50-and-over.
Jim Foote of Gainesville is the leader after 18 holes with an opening round 75. Randy Bailey is 3 shots back in solo 2nd place with an opening round 78. Three players are tied for 3rd shooting 79, Jeb Bates, Randy Dees and Robbie Bailey.
Chuck Whitmire leads the net division with a 69 followed by Mike Stephens with 73.
In the Super Senior Flight (age 65 and up) Fred Atterberry leads by 3 shots with a fine opening round of 71. Three shots back in second place is Joe Ingram (74) followed by Billy Shrader and Joe Roberts tied for third (76).
In the Super Senior net division, Fred Atterberry (66) leads by 2 shots over Jerry Shell (68).
