Resurfacing work to shut down Browns Bridge this weekend and next

By Bryan Pirkle Reporter

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a series of planned upcoming closures that will allow for the continued resurfacing of Browns Bridge in Hall County.

DOT officials announced this week that the bridge will be completely closed to traffic starting at 9 p.m. on October 21, with the closure lasting until 5 a.m. the following Monday morning.

Resurfacing work will halt during the week in order to facilitate the higher volume of traffic associated with the standard workweek.

The bridge will be shut down again on Friday, October 28, and will also last until 5 a.m. the following Monday morning.

Detours will be in place along State Route 369 to redirect affected traffic, with markers being placed at the roadway's intersections with State Routes 369 and 53.

The resurfacing work is expected to be completed by the end of the year, so additional closures are likely in the final two months of the year.
