A former captain with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office faces charges of sexual battery and sexual assault against a minor.

Officials with the sheriff's office confirmed Wednesday that Frank Augustus Huggins, 73, of Cumming was charged after a female juvenile reported being inappropriately groped by the suspect. Huggins was the girl's driving instructor at Lanier Technical College at the time of the alleged incident on September 8.

Detectives said they were able to confirm the victim’s allegations using video and audio from camera footage they retrieved from inside the vehicle.

Huggins was arrested Tuesday. He has posted bond.

Huggins was a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Captain from 2001 to 2010. During his employment, Huggins was the public information officer for the sheriff's office.
