DAWSONVILLE — After a slow start, Class AAA No. 3 Dawson County held Franklin County to single-digits in each of the final three quarters to rally for a 45-39 win in a battle of Region 7-AAA unbeaten teams.
The Lady Tigers (14-0, 3-0 Region 7-AAA) trailed 15-11 after the first quarter but pulled within 24-21 by halftime and then outscored the Lady Lions (12-3, 3-1) 24-15 in the second half to get the victory.
Karlie Bearden paced Dawson County with 15 points. Haley Burgess added 13 and Kaylee Sticker nine points for the Lady Tigers.
Dawson County next will travel to Lumpkin County on Tuesday in another 7-AAA contest.
Franklin County plays host to Banks County on Tuesday in 7-AAA action.
