White County house fire under investigation

CLEVELAND - Fire destroyed a 1,200-square-foot house in White County on Monday.

White County firefighters, along with automatic aid from the City of Cleveland and Lee Arrendale State Prison fire departments, responded to the fire on Carnation Place off Paradise Valley Road north of Cleveland about 11:15 a.m.

White County Public Safety spokeswoman Ana Newberry said the single-family residence was reported to have flames showing.

According to Newberry, the fire was in an unoccupied building.

State Fire Investigator Brian Smith was called to the scene and currently is investigating the cause, Newberry said.

No injuries were reported.
