Douglas man arrested for liquid meth in Habersham County

CORNELIA - A Douglas man was arrested in Habersham County Thursday after Habersham County authorities, along with drug agents, intercepted a package containing liquid methamphetamine.

Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Special Agent In Charge Mitchell Posey said in a release that 20-year-old Cristian Bustos was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on Joe's Way Drive. Earlier, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intercepted a package from Mexico that contained four kilograms of liquid methamphetamine.

Four kilograms of liquid meth can be turned in to eight pounds of powdered meth, according to Posey. He said the street value would be around $358,000.

Bustos was charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center.
