The Gainesville girls volleyball team split a pair of matches Wednesday.
The Lady Elephants improved to (22-7, 4-0 Region 8-AAAAA) after beating Pinecrest Academy 25-18, 22-25, 25-18 and then falling to Lanier 25-11, 25-17.
Savannah Roys had 38 assists, eight aces, and eight digs, Tanai Watson added 14 kills, nine digs, and two blocks, and Abby Alexander had seven kills and six blocks for Gainesville. Sydney King had three assists and 21 digs, Caroline Mercer added five digs and one ace, Tangi Miller had six kills and three blocks, and Bessie Winston had four kills and two digs for the Lady Red Elephants.
Sally Callahan had 11 digs, Cori Griffith had six kills and two digs, Anna Wylie had two kills and four blocks, and Ashley Filson added two digs.
Gainesville next will travel to Loganville in a tri-match with Rockdale County and host Loganville on Thursday.
