GTA schedules back stage tour for upcoming production

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA) WonderQuest is getting ready to bring "The Adventures of Pecos Bill" to the stage at Brenau University's Pearce Auditorium.

But, first, the public gets a chance Sept. 22 for a free back stage tour to see how the production is coming together.  In addition, Gay H. Hammond, the writer and director of the family-friendly "Pecos Bill," will discuss the excitements and challenges of translating Edward O’Reilly’s mythical tall tales to the stage.  Suzi award-nominated costume designer Jeannie Crawford and scenic designer B. Don Massey, professor emeritus at UGA, will talk about the process of bringing the Wild West to the stage. Lighting Designer Terri Becker will also add to the discussion.

More details, including ticket information, can be found at www.gainesvilleTHEATREalliance.org, or by calling the GTA Box Office at 678-717-3624, Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm.
