'Snake Day' returns to Gainesville this weekend

GAINESVILLE - Snake Day, Elachee’s popular fall festival, returns for its 22nd year Saturday.

Herpetologists and reptile experts representing the Georgia Herpetological  Society, the Georgia Reptile Society, the University of Georgia Society and other groups will be on hand again to share their knowledge and to display an array of turtles, lizards and, of course, snakes.  There also will be guided hikes, face painting, crafts, touch-a-snake opportunities, food and drink for sale and more. 

Admission is $5 and free for Elachee members and children 2 or under.
