Police: Gunman attacks Ga. teacher on her way to school

By Associated Press

EAST POINT, Ga. (AP) Police are investigating after a high school teacher reported being attacked by a gunman who jumped in her car and forced her to drive to an ATM machine as she was headed to school.

Police say the Creekside High School teacher was in the parking lot outside her East Point apartment Thursday morning when she saw an armed man approach from behind.

WSB-TV reports that the suspect struck her with his gun and climbed inside the back seat of her car.

Police say the gunman kissed the woman and began groping her.

Authorities say that after forcing the woman to drive to the ATM, she was able to jump out of the car. Witnesses who saw her run away called 911.

There was no immediate information on any arrests or charges.
