OAKWOOD - Authorities have released the name of the man who died Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving a deer on Old Flowery Branch Road in Hall County.
Georgia State Patrol Sgt. First Class G.R. Harper identified the victim as Robert S. Day, 53, of Winder.
Harper said a southbound vehicle hit a deer near Mountain View Road. Day's northbound vehicle then hit the same deer.
"The deer traveled through the windshield into the passenger compartment of the vehicle, and exited the rear of the vehicle," Harper said.
Harper said Day's vehicle then went off the road and hit a tree.
No one else was hurt in the accident. Harper said the state patrol responded to the wreck around 6:34 a.m.
