Teens, woman charged in Banks County child molestation case

HOMER - The Banks County Sheriff's Office has charged a Maysville woman and two teens as part of an ongoing child molestation investigation.

Sheriff's officials waited until today to release details of the arrests, which stemmed from a search warrant at a home on Mangum Bridge Road in Maysville on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Sheriff's Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said the sheriff's office received information that led to the search warrant.

"Three individuals were arrested on that date from three separate locations in connection with this case," McFaddin said.

Those individuals include:

* Amanda Elaine Craig, 37, of Maysville, who was arrested at her residence and charged with three counts of child molestation and three counts of statutory rape;

* Levi William Craig, 18, of Maysville, who was arrested at his place of employment and charged with two counts of child molestation, statutory rape, and aggravated child molestation; and

* Malcolm Xavier Mitchell, 19, of Commerce, who was arrested at his residence and charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of statutory rape.

"Due to the in-depth and ongoing investigation, we are unable to release further information at this time," McFaddin said.
