HOMER — For a quarter, Banks County looked set to to push Commerce to the limit.

Then Commerce pushed it into overdrive.

The Tigers scored 28 unanswered points in the second quarter and never looked back en route to a 55-13 win over the Leopards in Homer.

Commerce rolled up 447 yards rushing, including 174 yards on nine carries for Will Thomas, who added one touchdown run. J'Varius Wood also added 73 yards on just three carries, while alo catching two touchdown passes from Caleb Brooks. Brooks also added one touchdown run, while Cole Chancey also scored to cap an eight-carry, 75-yard night rushing.

After pulling within 14-13 -- the Leopards the potential game-tying point-after touchdown attempt -- Banks County hurt its own cause by fumbling away three times.

The Leopards rush for 133 yards and passed for 93.

Commerce (1-0) will travel to face Hebron Christian next week.

Banks County (0-1) will travel to take on Johnson next week.
