GAINESVILLE — The North Hall softball team jumped on Lumpkin County with a six-run first inning en route to a 9-1 victory on Thursday in Gainesville.
Logan Savage, who finished the game 2 for 4 at the plate, capped off the early barrage with a two-run triple after consecutive RBI hits by Niki Carver (1 for 3), Carson McCormack (2 for 4), and Ashley Goins (2 for 4).
North Hall picked up single runs in the second inning on a single by Carson McCormack and in the third inning on a single by Kadie Sullens (2 for 4). Ashley Goins finished the game with a walk off hit in the sixth inning to score Kadie Sullens. Camilla Howell (2 for 3) and Ashlyn Brewster (1 for 3) also scored runs. Carson Negley was 1 for 4 on the night.
Kendyl Chase picked up the win with 12 strikeouts and no walks in six innings of work. She was also 2 for 4 at the plate.
North Hall travels to Buford on Tuesday for its first region game of the year at 5:55 p.m against the Lady Wolves.
