Dawson County Sheriff's Captain announces run for sheriff

DAWSONVILLE - A captain with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office has launched a campaign for the sheriff's post.
 
Capt. Tony Wooten has set up a Facebook page announcing his run for the office, which will be vacated by Sheriff Billy Carlisle at the end of his term.
 
Wooten has served in a number of capacities in the sheriff's office during his 17-year-career.
 
Jeff Perry, a parole officer and 26-year law enforcement veteran, announced his intent to run for sheriff in April.
