No charges in machete road rage incident in Hall Co.

GAINESVILLE - No charges will be filed in a Hall County road rage incident on Athens Highway.

According to Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes, just before 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, deputies received a call regarding a road rage incident.

Bailes said the driver of an 18-wheeler reported that the truck was blocked in by a Kia SUV. The driver of a Kia pulled out a machete, claiming the truck driver had been tailgating the car.

After gathering more information from deputies on the scene, Bailes said that both drivers had conflicting reports, but it appears both were engaged in a degree of road rage. The Kia driver pulled off the roadway and the truck driver followed, prompting the Kia driver to grab a machete for protection, Bailes said.

Bailes said neither driver wants to prosecute, and no charges will be filed.
