GAINESVILLE — A Marietta man has been charged with drunk driving in a two-vehicle crash that injured four people Sunday night in northwest Hall County.

The Georgia State Patrol said Walter Tinsley, 59, was among the injured.

Tinsley was driving a Chevrolet truck northbound on Cook Springs Road near Nix Bridge Road when he failed to maintain his lane of travel. Troopers said the truck crossed the centerline, traveled off the west shoulder for approximately 296 feet, re-entered the roadway and was traveling head on toward a 2007 Honda Civic.

Troopers said the driver of the Honda attempted to avoid a head-on collision and steered to the left. The truck struck the Honda in the right side, pushing the Honda off the road. At that point, the truck overturned and caught fire.

The passengers in Tinsley's truck were identified as Brandon Johnson, 27, of Gainesville and Kristen Dale, 21, Gainesville.  Troopers said the Honda was being driven by Lori Behbahani, 29, of Gainesville.   All four of those involved were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Their injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

In addition to DUI charges, Tinsley has been charged by the GSP with failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.

The accident occurred around 6 p.m.
