HOMER - One person died and another was hurt in an overnight wreck near Banks Crossing.
Banks County Sheriff's Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said the single-vehicle wreck happened around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 85 southbound near Exit 149.
One occupant of the vehicle was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Another died at the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
