White County wreck hurts one, shuts down GA 115

CLEVELAND - A single-vehicle wreck around 2:30 p.m. Saturday shut down or seriously impacted traffic on Georgia Highway 115 at the White/Lumpkin County line for about an hour.

A westbound Chevrolet Impala left the roadway on the left shoulder, traveled down a steep embankment, struck some small trees and overturned onto the driver's side.

Personnel from White County Fire Services Station 5 and Station 2, as well as White County EMS, used ropes and a rescue basket to get an injured woman up the bank.

The wreck happened just feet inside White County, and was investigated by the White County Sheriff's Office traffic unit.

Both lanes of the road reopened around 3:40 p.m.

Additional details of the wreck are not immediately available.
