Reward offered for information on Oakwood robbery

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

OAKWOOD - Authorities are offering a reward to anyone with information after three people robbed a Wal-Mart in Oakwood Monday morning.

Investigator Todd Templeton of the Oakwood Police Department said the three suspects, two male and one female, shoplifted a 50-inch flat screen television from the store just before 1 a.m. Oakwood police and Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta are cooperating to offer a reward of up to $2,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

According to Templeton, the suspects entered the store together. One suspect, who appeared elderly and was riding an electric scooter, went to the electronics section and removed a security alarm wire from the television. The other suspects then placed it in their shopping cart and left without paying. Authorities say they left in a silver SUV, possibly a Buick Rendezvous.

To report information, you can call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS or text to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be reported to the organization's website: www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.
