Rain pushes NASCAR Xfinity race at Chicagoland to Sunday

One week after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race was cut short due to rain, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. has been postponed due to rain.

Rains moved into the area around 9 pm, sending teams and fans scrambling for shelter as the skies opened up.

NASCAR officials announced shortly before 10 pm that the race will now be run on Sunday at Noon.

Once the race begins, Sprint Cup Series regular Austin Dillon will lead the field to green, with Ross Kenseth, son of former champion Matt Kenseth, starting second.

Dawsonville, Ga.'s Chase Elliott will roll off from the sixth starting spot, while points leader Chris Buescher starts ninth.

WDUN will have MRN Radio live coverage beginning at Noon on Sunday on 102.9 FM and 1 pm on 550 AM.
