Bulldogs' season opener, S. Carolina game times announced, both on TV

ATHENS — The University of Georgia's Sept. 5 season opener against the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Sanford Stadium will kick off at noon on the SEC Network according to an announcement Thursday by ESPN and the Southeastern Conference. 

The Bulldogs will host South Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 19, in a 6 p.m. kickoff televised by ESPN. 

Previously announced was Georgia's game at Vanderbilt on Sept. 12 which will be televised by CBS at 3:30 p.m.

NOTE: University of Georgia freshman offensive lineman DeVondre Seymour has decided to discontinue his football playing career according to an announcement Thursday by UGA head coach Mark Richt. 

"I met with DeVondre and he feels strongly that football is not what he wants to do," said Richt. "We do wish him well in whatever career he chooses to pursue."

Seymour is a graduate of North Gwinnett High School and Hinds (Miss.) Community College.
