Pedestrian who allegedly caused Sardis Rd. wreck identified

GAINESVILLE - The pedestrian who allegedly caused a wreck on Sardis Road near Gainesville Thursday afternoon that left five people injured has been identified.
 
The Georgia State Patrol says charges are pending against David Levesque, 17, Gainesville, who was not injured
 
According to Sgt. George Harper Georgia State Patrol, Levesque walked into the path of a northbound vehicle and it swerved to avoid hitting him and and lost control.
 
"The vehicle began rotating counterclockwise and traveled across the centerline," said Harper. "It struck [the southbound] vehicle in the front...after impact, [the northbound] vehicle overturned..."  Harper said the southbound vehicle landed in on the west shoulder.
 
Witnesses told troopers Levesque was running around in the middle of the roadway when the accident happened.
 
24-year-old Victoria Honeycutt, the passenger in the northbound vehicle, was last reported in critical condition at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The driver of that vehicle, William Wade-Evers, 20, Cleveland, was also injured and taken to the hospital.   He has been cited for driver's license violations.
 
 Two people sitting in the backseat of his vehicle were injured and taken to the medical center where they were treated and released.  Cameron B. McCallum, 20, Augusta, and Jessica R. Colletti, 20, Clermont, were thrown from the vehice.  The state patrol says they were not wearing their seat belts and have been charged with seat belt law violations.
 
The driver of the southbound vehicle, Alison L. Burnette, 24, Gainesville, sustained an injury to one of her hands but did not require transport to the hospital.
