Charity ride planned for injured North Hall teen

GAINESVILLE—A motorcycle ride and music benefit are planned to raise money for an injured North Hall High School junior's medical bills.

Darrien Ingram, 17, suffered a head injury while skateboarding April 15, and spent four weeks in intensive care.

Ingram competed in varsity football and wrestling for the Trojans, and celebrated a birthday May 20.

A two-hour ride is planned to raise money for Ingram's medical costs; he is currently recovering at the Shepherd Clinic in Atlanta, where he will be for the next four-to-six weeks.

The ride, which is $15 per motorcycle and $5 per passenger, starts at the Wild Wing Cafe on Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville, and ends at J & D Cycles on Oak Street.

Registration for the Saturday, May 30 event begins at 9:45 a.m., and it's "kickstands up" at 11:00.

Starting at 1:00 there will be food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and live music.

The Asphalt Cowboys, The Wheelcats, Eli Carlan Band, Chris Robertson, Elvis Armour, Dwight Carder, and Ted Tuck will perform.

Donations can also be made at Elevation Fitness on Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville.
