TOCCOA - A Stephens County teen who was struck by a car Sunday night, May 10, has died.
Trooper 1st Class Jesse Lewis of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa confirmed that 16-year-old Wesley Teate of Martin died May 15.
Teate was walking on Georgia Highway 17 near Childs Road when he was struck by a 2014 Nissan Sentra shortly after 10 p.m.
Teate was walking southbound on the fog line of Georgia 17 with the flow of traffic when he was struck. He suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Lewis said no charges are expected against 24-year-old Savannah Renne Woods of Martin, who was driving the car.
