MARYVILLE, Tenn. - So far this season, there is just no beating Randy Weaver.
Weaver set fast time qualifying Friday night at Smokey Mountian Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. and then proceeded to lead the entire 40 lap Rockin’ With The Stars 40 presented by WIMZ 103.5 for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series.
Weaver took the lead at the start ahead of Mike Marlar and stayed in complete control of the race. While Weaver stretched his lead, the fight for second place raged between Marler, Chickamauga, Ga.’s Dale McDowell, Skip Arp, Toccoa, Ga.’s Casey Robert and Chris Madden. The fight came to an end on lap 16 when Arp tagged the outside wall ending his night in this race.
Meanwhile, there was no catching Weaver, and he kept scored his sixth win in six races he has entered this season. McDowell waged a fierce battle for the second, beating out Marlar for the position. Roberts came home fourth with Chris Madden in fifth.
Tommy Kerr, Stacy Boles, Billy Ogle, Jr., Riley Hickman and rounded out the top 10.
