GALLERY: Vision 2030 launches public art tour

By AccessWDUN staff

Vision 2030, an arm of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, has launched a public art initiative that provides the opportunity for the public to view more than 30 pieces of artwork in a variety of media.

Much of the artwork in the Gainesville-Hall public art tour is located in the downtown area, including the Brenau University campus, but also includes the mural at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue and the Rabbittown Monument. More information about the tour is available on the Vision 2030 website.

The idea for the tour originated with the Vision 2030 public art committee, which saw the idea as a way to enhance the quality of life in the community. According to the group's brochure, "Our art has the power to express more than words. It willevoke a sense of communty, pride and heritage; be a catalyst for reflection, remembrance and conversation; and be an expression of honor and hope.
