GAINESVILLE - Investigators say a house fire in Gainesville Wednesday night started because combustibles were left near a heater.
A fire department spokesman says firefighters had the blaze under control about ten minutes after they arrived. Keith Smith said the city's fire marshal determined that the fire started in the laundry room "due to combustible items too close to a wall unit heater.
The 10:30 fire caused about $30,000 in damages.
