Boys tennis: War Eagles too much for Knights

OAKWOOD -- The Chestatee boys tennis team swept the singles points en route to a 4-1 win over Johnson on Friday in Region 8-AAAA play in Oakwood.

The War Eagles (4-2, 3-2 Region 8-AAAA) were led by Tyler Burgess at No. 1 singles, who improved to 5-1 on the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Chestatee's Reed Johnson remained undefeated on the season (4-0 at singles and 2-0 at doubles) with a 6-3, 6-2 victory, and Austin Passmore won 6-0, 6-1 No. 3 singles.

Johnson got a point back at No. 1 doubles thanks to a 6-0, 6-1 win for Alex Kimbrell/Asher Griffith.

But Chestatee's Hasten Haynes/Logan Gruenenfelder replied with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
