Man, dog shot in Buford robbery

BUFORD - A man and his dog were shot in an apparent robbery at a house on Old Cumming Road late Wednesday night, according to Gwinnett County Police.

Investigators said the man called 911 at 11:27 p.m. and told dispatchers that two armed men had come to the door of his home on Old Cumming Road. The homeowner, whose name has not been released, apparently struggled with the suspects and that's when he was shot.

Police said the homeowner has been hospitalized, and his dog - also shot - was taken to a vet.

Even though the homeowner was able to talk with investigators, they said he was not able to give a good description of the suspects.
