UPDATE: Four arrests made in murder of Gainesville taxi driver

GAINESVILLE - Four people are behind bars in the Hall County Jail facing felony murder charges in the killing of a taxi driver, Isaias Tovar-Murillo, 46, of Gainesville.

Tovar-Murillo was shot during an armed robbery, according to a press release from Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes.

"It was quite evident to us (when deputies arrived) that we had foul play," said Bailes, who says the victim was killed by gunshot, but would not elaborate on how many times he was shot.

Misty Moran, 39 of Gainesville, is accused of leading the crime, and faces charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, felony murder, malice murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Moran was accompanied by Margarita Leanos, 28, Nicholas Gonzalez, 24, and Justin Adams, 22, all of whom are from Gainesville and face charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and felony murder.

"Moran is our primary suspect for the actual shooting. The other three co-defendants have been charged as accessories. The evidence suggests that they were a party to this armed robbery," said Bailes, who added that they assisted in following Tovar-Murillo's cab.

Bailes says the investigation is ongoing, and there could be other suspects involved.

She says the crime happened at 4:50 a.m. Monday in the area of Barrett Road and Dorsey Peek Road near the Jackson County line.

"This particular area is a fielded area with a residence that sits on a hill," said Bailes.

Police arrived after reports came in about a suspicious vehicle in the area; citizens in the area were able to provide police with tips and information.

"(Those tips) ultimately led to the arrest of these four suspects," said Bailes.
