Gowdy: Benghazi panel will call Clinton 'at least twice'

By The Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) - The chairman of a House committee investigating the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, says he will call former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to appear before his committee at least twice.

Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina says one appearance is needed to ``clear up'' Clinton's role in using personal email to conduct official business as the nation's top diplomat.

The committee also plans to call Clinton to appear at a public hearing to answer questions specifically regarding Libya and the September 2012 attacks in Benghazi that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Smith and three other Americans.

Gowdy said he was ``left with more questions than answers'' following Clinton's news conference on the email controversy Tuesday. Clinton said she should have used government email as secretary of state.
