By Staff
ATLANTA - Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County Chief Professional Officer (CPO) Steven Mickens has been named Executive of the Year in the Southeast Region by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Each year, the national organization accepts nominations from Boys & Girls Clubs employees and board members regarding leaders who have dedicated themselves and their work to better serve the youth in their community and have shown exceptional success doing so. With Mickens in the top leadership position, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County (BGCHC) has grown to include five school sites and three club locations, serving approximately 5,300 individuals between the ages of 6 and 18 through a diversified list of programs.

Mickens was surprised but extremely honored to receive the award.

"I am humbled and had no clue I was even considered for this award. It's a team award in my book because I have the privilege of working side by side with exceptional people within our organization and within a great community that is dedicated to helping young people. We set high expectations for our staff and youth to truly "inspire greatness" in the young people who need us most."

"On behalf of our Board of Directors, we are delighted that Steve has been recognized nationally for his leadership and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of youth. Every child and teen is important to Steve and he wants only the best for our kids, staff and community, said Dana Miller, chief volunteer officer, BGCHC.
