GAINESVILLE - The group, Friends of Don Carter State Park, is planning a workday at the Lake Lanier complex to clear away the large number of trees that block hiking trails as a result of the ice storm nearly two weeks ago.
Volunteers are invited to meet at the Park off Browning Bridge Road next Saturday, March 14th, at 9 a.m.
Officials with the group said that those with bow saws and limb cutters are welcome to bring the tools, but that insurance restrictions will prohibit the use of power tools such as chain saws.
