ATLANTA - The Atlanta Regional Commission is giving the city of Buford $100,000 in grant funding for connectivity improvements.
According to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post, Buford officials will add $25,000 to the grant amount and update its Town Center Master Plan.
The plan is 10-years-old and city officials say it needs to be updated to allow for connecting sidewalks and bike paths between schools, mainly because the city's school district has experienced so much growth over the last decade.
In addition to the sidewalks and bike paths, the city is looking to improve road access from one school to another.
A total of $800,000 is being distributed to metro-area towns and cities as part of ARC's Livable Centers Initiatives grant program.
