NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Ryan Preece dug himself a hole on the first night of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, and a week later he completed his drive all the way back to the top.
The 24-year-old from Berlin, Conn., captured the prestigious 30th Richie Evans Memorial 100 on Friday night at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. The race is named after the Modified legend and NASCAR Hall of Famer from Rome, New York, who won six championships at the Florida half-mile high-banked oval.
