Heavy rains have brought flooding to the North Georgia area, including the Olympic Venue, Longwood Park and other areas around Gainesville.
Lake Lanier is expected to crest at 1075 Thursday, and the Army Corps of Engineers plans to start heavy releases from Buford Dam in hopes of bringing the lake level down to 1070.
The Rowing Venue had to cancel the annual Polar Bear Plunge due to unsafe conditions in the area caused by flooding.
