Girls basketball: Flowery Branch wins White Co. Christmas tourney

CLEVELAND — The Flowery Branch girls took home the White County Christmas title with a 63-26 rout of Forsyth Central Saturday at the White County gym.

The Lady Falcons (11-0) opened with a 19-7 first quarter and then extended their lead to 33-14 by halftime. They held the Lady Bulldogs to just four points in the third quarter while pyushing the lead to 46-18 heading into the fourth quarter.

Julianne Sutton and Taniah Worth both had huge games for Flowery Branch with double-doubles. Sutton finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds while Worth had 11 points and 17 rebounds for the Lady Falcons. 

Sutton was named the tournament MVP while Worth was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Falcons will be off until Dec. 28th when they will play West Hall in the opening round of the Lanierland Tournament.
