LILBURN—A body was recovered in Gwinnett County in the Yellow River about 4:30 Saturday afternoon. The body was spotted by a kayaker in the area between Bending River Trail and Stone Mountain Hwy. Gwinnett County Police and the Gwinnett County Swift Water Rescue team recovered the body about 7 p.m.
The kayaker said in the 911 call that the body was about 40-50 feet from the bank of the river, according to a press release from Gwinnett Police.
At this time, all that is known is that the body is that of a male. The race and age of the victim have yet to be determined and will be confirmed by the Medical Examiner.
A teenager went missing in the river in November, though authorities haven't said if the two cases are related.
