Man faces charges in Hall subdivision home invasion

GAINESVILLE - A 20-year-old Gainesville man faces charges in an early September home invasion in Hall County.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said the victim in the September 9 assault and home invasion in the Chimney’s Subdivision identified the suspect in a photo lineup.

Daniel Burchardt is charged with aggravated battery, burglary and home invasion in that case.

"The victim was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he was treated and released for injuries received in the assault," Bailes stated in a news release.

Patrol deputies located Burchardt at his Looper Lake Road residence last Friday.  He was initially arrested for an incident on November 17 on Antioch Campground Road.

Armed with a gun, he allegedly went to someone's front door and rattled the door handle.  The victim told deputies he opened the door, and the suspect yelled vulgarities at him.

Bailes said the homeowner retreated into the home and called 911 as Burchardt ran off.

The Antioch Campground Road victim also identified Burchardt in a photo lineup.  He's charged with aggravated assault in that case.
