FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA — West Hall built an early lead but could not hold on before falling 49-45 to Choctaw (Fla.) in the semifinals of the Emerald Coast Thanksgiving Classic Tuesday at Choctaw High.
The Lady Spartans opened with a 16-4 first quarter and took a 27-20 lead into halftime. Choctaw battled back to within 39-37 heading into the fourth quarter and then overtook West Hall (1-1) in the final minutes.
Anna McKendree paced the Lady Spartans with 21 points. Macy Passmore added 13 points for West Hall.
West Hall will take on T.R. Miller out of Brewton, Ala. at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the third place game.
