VIDEO: Gordon, Crafton score timely Martinsville wins

Joey Logano appeared to have Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway won with just over 50 laps to go.  But then he came upon the slower car of Matt Kenseth.

Going into turn one, Kenseth drilled Logano, driving both cars up into the outside wall, all but destroying both and putting both drivers out of the race.

That opened the door for Jeff Gordon, driving in his final race on a track he had won on eight times previously, to take the lead, and go on to score the victory.  The win is huge for Gordon, giving him a golden ticket to the Championship round in a few weeks at Homestead.

After the race, Gordon said he still couldn’t believe how it turned out.  We also heard from winning crew chief Alan Gustafson, second place finisher Jamie McMurray and Kyle Busch, who came home in fifth.

NASCAR Executive Vice-President Steve O’Donnell also spoke to the media following the race, as he discussed the dust up between Kenseth and Logano.

Matt Crafton came into Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway needing to have a strong run to have any chance of winning his third straight series championship.

He did just that, as he powered to the lead with 63 laps remaining around the tight half-mile, then went on to hold off John Hunter Nemechek to score the victory.  It marked Crafton's fifth victory of the season, and moves him to within 10 points of leader Erik Jones, who finished in tenth, with three races left in the season.

Afterwards, Crafton talked about the win, while Nemechek also spoke with the media.
