President of United Way of Hall Co. leaving agency

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

GAINESVILLE - The President and Chief Professional Officer (CPO) of United Way of Hall County has announced plans to step down, effective next April 30.

Jackie Wallace has been employed by the agency the past 15 years and has been President and CPO since July 2007.

“I was originally asked to join the organization with a contract for six months.  But I fell in love with the work and refused to leave.  Seriously, it’s been a great opportunity and I’m extremely thankful to have been a part of an organization doing important work in our community.”

She added she's not sure what she'll be doing after she leaves United Way.

"I don’t have anything specific planned right now as I’m focused on ensuring a smooth transition.  I do hope to remain involved in the non-profit community in some capacity."

Philip Wilheit, Jr., chairman of the United Way of Hall County Board of Directors, has appointed Davis White to chair a search committee which will be looking for her successor.
