Tap IT Gainesville, Humane Society to host pet-themed Halloween event

By For AccessWDUN

For the first time Tap IT Gainesville Growlers and the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) have teamed up to celebrate Halloween with a special event: Yappy Hour Howl-o-ween.

From 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 we will host Yappy Hour Howl-o-ween with the HSNEGA. Tap IT has games, prizes, pet themed brews planned along with a pet costume contest at 6 p.m.

Tap IT will feature Dogfish Head Punkin Ale flights and wine flights from Chateau La Paws, a winery that donates a portion of their dog-themed wine sales to no kill animal shelters across the country.

The pet costume contest at 6 p.m. will award prizes for the scariest, funniest and cutest pet costumes! Prizes are courtesy Tap IT and local pet treat company Look Who’s Happy. Local celebrity judges will be WDUN's Katie B. Davis, HSNEGA's Julie Edwards and our very own Brad Sample.

“The Humane Society is excited to be joining Tap IT for this fun community outreach event combining three things many people love: their pets, the Halloween holiday and good beer,” says Julie Edwards, executive director of HSNEGA. “We hope to see many of our HSNEGA supporters and adoption alums in attendance!”

All well-behaved, vaccinated, leashed pets are welcome.
