GHS grad picks up Emmy

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville High School gradute Lee Ferran, Class of 2004, recently received an Emmy at the 67th annual awards presentation.

Ferran was honored for Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast as Digital Producer.  Lee is currently employed as the Digital Editor for ABC's Brian Ross Investigative Unit. 

While attending Gainesville High School, he was the Newspaper Editor of the Trumpeter, Key Club President, and Three Sport Varsity Award winner. During his senior year, he interned at The Gainesville Times.  Ferran attended Wake Forest University and graduated in 2008 majoring in history and international studies. At Wake Forest, he was a contributing writer for the university's student newspaper "Old Gold and Black".  

He began his work with ABC television network with an internship with Good Morning America in 2008 and then worked his way to his current position.

He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harry H. (Hop) and Mindy Ferran.
