JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson defense held Morgan County to just 136 total yards and pitched its second shutout of the season Friday night in a 17-0 win at Memorial Stadium.
Colby Wood outgained the entire Bulldogs offense rushing for 153 yards and scored twice to lead the Dragons (7-0, 3-0 Region 8-AA) to a key region win.
Wood scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and added a 2-yard scoring run in the second quarter. Freshman Hayden Kilgore booted a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter to give Jefferson a 17-0 halftime lead.
The Dragons then clamped down on the Bulldogs (3-3, 1-1).
Morgan County will play host to Oconee County next week while Jefferson will travel to East Jackson in 8-AAA contests.
