CARNESVILLE - Funeral arrangements have been announced for former Franklin County Sheriff Mildred Royston.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Mrs. Royston was married to Sheriff Clifford Royston when he died of cancer while in office.. Upon his death, she was appointed to finish out her husband's term as sheriff, from 1980 until Jan. 1, 1981.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Liberty Baptist Church on Highway 145, Carnesville. Burial, with honors by the Hall County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard, will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens North on Highway 59.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 today, Oct. 9, at Ginn Funeral Home in Carnesville.
