Gainesville property tax bills in the mail

By AccessWDUN staff

GAINESVILLE - City of Gainesville property owners will be receiving their tax bill this week with a due date of December 7.

The City is only mailing one tax bill this year.

Tax Coordinator Dee Dee Stephens said reducing the number of bills will be a plus for the city and the taxpayer.

“One billing will allow us to save money on the cost of preparing the bills and additional postage. Installment payments will still be accepted. This annual billing is now possible because we have new software that is compatible with Hall County’s tax system. In addition, customers can review previous years’ tax information online at www.gainesvilletax.org,” Stephens added.

The City mailed more than 12,000 tax bills this week.  The 2015 tax revenue for the City of Gainesville is $10.2 million for general government, debt service, and parks and recreation. Of the $10.2 million, 32% is paid by residential, 68% commercial and industrial. The City of Gainesville also bills for the school system which consists of 71% of the total tax bill.

The tax office is open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm to assist customers with questions.  For more information call the tax office at
