Basketball: Lakeview Academy sweeps Towns Co. in 8-A action

HIAWASSEE -- The Lakeview boys and girls basketball teams came away with big wins Saturday to sweep Towns County in Region 8-A action.<br /> <br /> The Lady Lions used a 20-5 second quarter to blow open a close game for a 76-51 win while the boys had four players in double figures in a 77-47 whitewash of the Indians on the road.<br /> <br /> For the girls, Hanna Grogan poured in 27 points to pace Lakeview Academy (11-6, 7-0n Region 8-A) to stay unbeaten and atop the region standings.<br /> <br /> The Lady Lions led just 22-16 after the first quarter but would take a 42-21 lead into halftime after the second quarter explosion. They would push the lead to 59-32 heading into the fourth quarter.<br /> <br /> Christen Copeland added 12 points for Lakeview.<br /> <br /> Misty Lindermuth had 20 points to lead Towns County (4-13, 1-4).<br /> <br /> In the boys game, Tae Turner had a huge game with 21 points, eight steals, and six assists to lead the Lakeview Academy. Josh Randolph added 15 points, Tre Gober had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Brandon Browner had 10 points for the Lions.<br /> <br /> Lakeview Academy (12-6, 6-1 Region 8-A) will hit the road again on Tuesday traveling to Hebron Christian in another key region matchup.
