Boys basketball: Cockfield catches fire again for new career high

OAKWOOD -- Ty Cockfield poured in a career-high 46 points and sparked a fourth quarter comeback to lead Class AAAA No. 2 Johnson to an 82-76 victory over Apalachee Saturday night.<br /> <br /> The Knights (18-0) trailed most of the game after falling behind 20-9 after the first quarter. Apalachee (14-5) increased its lead to 40-27 by halftime.<br /> <br /> The Knights began to chip away in the third quarter cutting the lead to 57-46 heading into the fourth quarter. In the final period, Johnson exploded for 36 points while holding the Wildcats to just 19 and rallying to get the win.<br /> <br /> Cockfield's career night came just four days after establishing a new mark with 42 points against Buford in a big Region 8-AAAA win. The senior has scored 122 points in his past three games (40.6 ppg). <br /> <br /> Roderick English added 24 points for the Knights. <br /> <br /> Apalachee was paced by Kamar Baldwin with 46 points.<br /> <br /> The Knights next will play host to North Oconee in a key Region 8-AAAA on Tuesday.
